Terms of use
Last updated 2026-10-27
These terms cover your use of Riffle. By signing in you agree to them. They are short on purpose.
What Riffle is
Riffle turns photos, PDFs and pasted text into clean text you can read one word at a time, and uses an AI model to write summaries, glossaries, flashcards, quizzes and answers about that text. It is offered free, as it is, for personal study.
Your account
- You must be 13 or older to use Riffle.
- You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in. Keep your email account secure.
- Daily limits apply to AI features so the service stays affordable. They are shown in Settings.
Your content
- Everything you scan, paste or write stays yours. Riffle claims no rights over it and uses it only to provide the features you ask for.
- Only add material you have the right to use. Scanning pages from a book you own or are studying, for your own reading, is what Riffle is for. Do not use it to copy or redistribute work you do not have permission to reproduce.
- Do not upload content that is illegal, that you are not allowed to hold, or that contains other people's private information.
AI output
Summaries, definitions, quiz grades and chat answers are written by a model and can be wrong, incomplete or misleading. Check anything that matters against the original text. They are study aids, not authoritative sources.
Availability and changes
Riffle is a small project and may be unavailable, change, or shut down. If it shuts down, you will be given a reasonable chance to download your data first. There is no warranty of any kind, and to the extent the law allows, no liability for losses arising from use of the service.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Accounts used to abuse the service, run up costs deliberately, or break these terms may be closed.
Privacy
How your data is handled is set out on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.
